Patient recruitment for the OPADE clinical trial starts at the University of Siena!

March 22, 2024.

The OPADE Project has taken a crucial step with the opening of patient recruitment at its first clinical site at the University of Siena. This clinical trial, involving 10 clinical sites in 5 countries (Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Turkey, and Colombia) aims to recruit 350 patients aged 19-50 years diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD).

OPADE aims to identify biomarker predictors for the stratification and implementation of a personalised pharmacological treatment in patients affected by MDD, using artificial intelligence and machine learning. Participants will undergo careful follow-up for 54 months, with a total of 6 scheduled visits throughout the study: an initial visit and five follow-up visits at weeks 8, 16, 26, 52 and 104 respectively.

During these follow-up visits, patients will complete psychometric questionnaires designed to measure various aspects of the disorder and biological samples will be collected for analysis. Patients who meet the inclusion criteria and do not meet any of the exclusion criteria will be eligible to participate in the trial.

If you or someone you know might be interested in participating in this important study to improve the understanding and treatment of Major Depressive Disorder, we invite you to contact us at info@opade-project.eu.
