OPADE Holds its Second Annual Meeting in Salerno: Promoting Precision Medicine in Depression

November 04, 2025.

The international OPADE consortium successfully held its Second Annual Meeting on 29 and 30 October 2025. This crucial meeting took place at the headquarters of FONDAZIONE EBRIS in Salerno, Italy, reaffirming the project’s commitment to scientific innovation and social impact.

During two days of intense collaborative work, the consortium partners reviewed the progress made so far and defined key strategies.

The scientific core of the project remains focused on the gut-brain axis, which plays a central role in Major Depressive Disorders (MDD). The goal is to overcome the low remission rate (less than 6%) associated with current treatments and end the cycle of ‘trial and error.’

The consortium is working on integrating heterogeneous data to establish patient profiles and optimise the efficacy of prescribed antidepressants.

This meeting confirms OPADE’s ambition to increase the remission rate and reduce functional impairment in patients’ real lives by developing a robust and cost-effective predictive system.

Because transforming mental health requires bold science, global collaboration, and technology at the service of each patient. The future of personalised medicine is already underway.
